Johnson Publishing moving its Chicago offices to new Michigan Ave. address
(January 8, 2012) Crain's Chicago Business is reporting that Johnson Publishing Co. has chosen a new home now that it has sold its iconic building on South Michigan Ave. The new headquarters for Ebony and Jet magazines and Fashion Fair Cosmetics will be five blocks north on the top floors of the Borg-Warner skyscraper at 200 S. Michigan Ave. Johnson Publishing Co. was given 18 months to re-locate after the headquarters that JPC founder John H. Johnson had built in 1971 was sold in November 2010 to Columbia College Chicago. The college plans to make the building at 820 S. Michigan Ave. its library facility.
